Education Package - Anaphylaxis

Public Health, in consultation with community partners, developed a self-directed education package that provides valuable information for staff who work in schools and community settings with children at risk for anaphylaxis.

Who is the education package for?

Everyone in regular contact with children who have life threatening allergies should participate in this training, including:

  • School staff (including teachers, principals, teacher assistants, etc.)
  • Nurses
  • Foodservice staff
  • Bus drivers 
  • Coaches
  • Volunteers
  • Recreation staff

  • Describe signs & symptoms
  • Identify triggers for anaphylaxis
  • Treat anaphylaxis
  • Apply avoidance strategies
  • Use an auto-injectors correctly
