prideHealth
The prideHealth program provides safe and accessible primary health care services for people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (GLBTIQ).
By meeting people in community locations and places that are safe, we hope to establish relationships and build trust as a means to improve the health of the rainbow community.
Health Services in the Community
The prideHealth nurse provides health care services for adults and youth at a number of safe community locations in the city.
prideHealth for Youth
prideHealth is a partnership of Capital Health and the IWK Health Centre. The prideHealth nurse makes visits to the Youth Project twice a month.
It Gets Better
Celebrating stories of GLBTIQ staff success and happiness, Capital Health and IWK Health Centre have added their own It Gets Better video to this international movement against bullying.
