Educational Opportunities and Partnerships

Research Education across Atlantic Canada’s Hospitals (REACH)

Education is essential to building research capacity. There are numerous research sites across Atlantic Canada with various areas of expertise and at differing stages of development. Collaboration and sharing of experiences among these sites maximizes resources, develops relationships, standardizes best research practices and promotes excellence in research across Atlantic Canada.

Opportunities for Research Sites in Atlantic Canada

Educational opportunities are promoted and accessed across Atlantic Canada through telehealth. Participants and collaborators from Moncton, Saint John, Fredericton, Sydney and Kentville have been integral to this program. If you would like to have your site participate in telehealth, please contact the Program Manager, Research Education. In addition, workshops have been conducted at many research sites across Atlantic Canada. If you are interested in having a workshop conducted at your research site please contact, the Program Manager, Research Education.

Opportunities for Local Research Staff

Educational opportunities have expanded to include local research staff from the IWK Health Centre and Dalhousie University. All local research staff are welcome to attend all educational events. Health professionals who are interested in learning more about research are encouraged to contact the Program Manager, Research Education, to inquire about accessing local educational opportunities.

Integrated Health Research Training Partnership (IHRTP)

The Integrated Health Research Training Partnership (IHRTP) is a strategic initiative to build and enhance health research capacity. Five independent partners - Dalhousie Faculties of Dentistry, Health Professions and Medicine; IWK Health Centre; and Capital Health - have agreed to share, build and coordinate resources to create comprehensive research training opportunities.

In addition to sharing existing training opportunities, the IHRTP has developed a Research Skills Training Program. The program allows for tailoring of individual educational needs and facilitates networking and cross pollination across various disciplines and institutions.
