Annual Pump Education Day

Annually, the DCPNS hosts a Pump Education Day for team members from the NSIPP-Approved sites as well as pending NSIPP sites. This day brings together diabetes educators and specialty physicians from across Nova Scotia and is designed to foster networking and promote information sharing in support of quality pump therapy in Nova Scotia.

Embracing New Technologies: Implications for Practice was held on November 23, 2018.  We were pleased to have Christine Richardson, RN BScN CDE, Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), share her expertise as a leader in the design, development, and ongoing management of the Insulin Pump and CGM Programs at CHEO. Talking Targets: The Art of Communication was held on March 28, 2018.  We were pleased to have invited speaker, Dr. Denis Daneman, Pediatric Endocrinology, Toronto Sick Kids, share his expertise and approaches to improving A1C management in our pump therapy patients.
