Fluoride Mouth Rinse Program

Certain Nova Scotia elementary schools have access to a weekly Fluoride Mouth Rinse Program. The program is supervised by volunteers who have been trained by a Public Health Dental Hygienist. Studies show that the Fluoride Mouth Rinse Program has reduced cavities among school children by up to 30 per cent!

Nova Scotia's Fluoride Mouth Rinse Program is safe and effective; takes very little school time; is easy for most children to learn and do; and is paid for by Public Health Services in each District Health Authority. There is no direct cost to children, families or schools.
