Dr. Tanya Munroe

Dr. Tanya Munroe was drawn to emergency medicine because of the variety. She worked previously as a respiratory therapy in critical care areas and says, “The ED always felt a bit like home. Knowing I can provide care and use some of my ED-specific skills to make an immediate difference to someone’s life or health is rewarding.”
Tanya has worked in emergency medicine for 20 years. Much of her career has been in Truro, where she has worked as a family and emergency physician.
“What excites me the most about emergency medicine is the opportunity to continually learn. As treatments and technology change, our approach and skills do as well.”
Outside of the emergency department, Tanya stays busy as a mom to three sons and a long-distance runner, training for her ninth marathon.
