Formal Leaders

Formal leaders are considered to be employees in formal management positions (often with HR and budgetary accountabilities).  There are approximately 450 formal leadership positions (including Vice-Presidents, Directors and Managers) at Capital Health. This group of formal leaders is often referred to as the “Leadershift Community”.

Foundation

The Foundation module is the original program of My Leadership designed to introduce and support the development of Capital Health leadership framework capabilities of formal leaders. It is a workshop offered in two consecutive full-days, followed by two group half-day session (Marketplace and Completion) in the weeks and months that follow.

Foundation is a requirement of all formal leaders at Capital Health, in keeping with the 2013 Our Promise milestone that all formal leaders will consistently demonstrate transformational leadership behaviours as defined by the  BEING, CARING, DOING capabilities.

My Leadership - Foundation
This is a workshop offered in two consecutive full-days, and open to leaders in formal management positions only. Completion of a Self-Assessment and 360° Reflective Survey is required to participate. The two-day group session is followed by two group half-day sessions (Marketplace and Completion) in the weeks and months that follow.

My Leadership - Marketplace
Marketplace is the third session (3 hours) of the Foundation module. Attending Marketplace is a requirement to officially complete My Leadership Foundation.

My Leadership - Completion
Completion is final session (2 hours) of the Foundation module. Attending Completion is a requirement to officially complete My Leadership Foundation.

Sequel

Sequel is a programming stream for formal leaders that follows and builds on Foundation. It supports a trajectory from the leadership of self (“my leadership”) to the leadership of team (“our leadership”), which leads to impact on the leadership of organization and ultimately society/world.

Sequel:  Leading as a Team
Meeting together as leadership teams, this session will help to strengthen team accountability and capacity for shared transformational leadership.

Sequel:  Action Plan
Leadership teams will leave this session with a plan for developing and demonstrating shared transformational leadership, and gain access to resources that support it.

Café

Café sessions provide an opportunity to learn transformational leadership strategies, applying learning to a relevant leadership challenge. They are offered to anyone who has completed Foundation. For program or registration information, please visit LMS.
