Update for employees in Bethune Building

For Employees Working in the Bethune Building

Planned power outage tonight
Electrical upgrades to support restoration work will require the power at the Bethune Building to be shut off this evening between 6pm and 9 p.m. This power outage will affect the entire building.

Deodorizer smell
As noted yesterday, we have asked the company contracted to dry out the building not to use deodorizer for the remainder of the week. While it is a natural product, it has a strong odour and we’ve received complaints from many employees who are bothered by the smell. We will make a decision on Friday as to whether to use it over the weekend and will advise you of this decision tomorrow.

If you notice any other unusual odours at any point in the restoration, call 473-SAFE (7233).

If you are experiencing illness you believe to be associated with odours and air quality, please tell your manager and call 473-SAFE (7233).

If you have questions related to the flood, please email capitalnews@cdha.nshealth.ca and we will find the most appropriate person to respond.
