When it comes to your health, you want to be well informed. Capital Health Library Services, the IWK and Halifax Public Libraries can provide you with the information you need to help make sense of an illness or health condition, or learn more about achieving a healthy lifestyle.

There are several resources available to you:

Health Sciences Libraries - You are welcome to visit any of Capital Health’s libraries. Librarians can provide advice on searching for health information, and you can take advantage of free wireless Internet and public computer access. Items cannot be taken out of the library, but inexpensive or free photocopying is available. Search the Health Sciences Library’s resources to see what is available.

Patient Pamphlet Database - Search Capital Health’s patient education pamphlet collection for information on a variety of conditions and procedures.

IWK Family Resource Library - The Family Resource Library has health information for all ages. Just search for “library” from the IWK home page.

Halifax Public Libraries - You can access public library health resources to find current information on a variety of health topics. Search the Halifax Public Libraries main catalogue to find general books and more. If the library does not have a particular book in their collection, you can ask circulation staff to order it for you.
