Capital Health introduces kiosk registration for Halifax Infirmary clinics

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 4:45pm

Capital Health is introducing kiosk registration for 11 of its 13 ambulatory care clinics at the Halifax Infirmary effective Monday, Oct. 3, 2011. These clinics include:

  • Neurology
  • Respirology
  • Pulmonary function Lab
  • EMG
  • EEG
  • Plastics
  • Urology
  • Minor Procedures
  • Vascular
  • Neurosurgery
  • Vascular Lab

The Orthopedic Clinic and the Orthopedic Assessment Clinic will move to kiosk registration four to six weeks later.

Patients with appointments at any of the above clinics will register for their appointment using an electronic kiosk as of Monday, Oct. 3, 2011.

Patients should enter through the Robie Street entrance of the Halifax Infirmary, where they will find several registration kiosks. A staff member will be available to help patients through the kiosk registration process if they need assistance.

With the swipe of a health card or a few touches of the screen, a patient’s demographic information and appointment details appear for confirmation. Within 90 seconds, the patient will be registered for their appointment.

This move to kiosk registration reduces the wait sometimes associated with traditional registration and is in line with our commitment to person-centred care.
