Capital Health and IWK Health Centre introduce joint role of Vice-President, Research & Innovation

Thursday, September 1, 2011 - 3:30pm

Capital Health and the IWK Health Centre are pleased to announce the development of the concept of an Integrated Vice-President of Research and Innovation.

This position would seek to lead and integrate the expanding efforts in health research of the IWK and Capital Health, in partnership with Dalhousie University.

Capital Health and the IWK are committed to coordinating our approach to research and innovation, and the level of cooperation and joint planning that takes place between our two institutions to strengthen research is considerable.

We propose that this new, integrated leadership role would complement the increasing collaboration between our two institutions over the past few years.  It is a logical development as we seek to strengthen our research capacity and advance our missions to benefit the health of Nova Scotians.

The integration of our two research divisions and their many services will involve a significant amount of input from stakeholders in both organizations as well as from our research partners, notably Dalhousie University.  We will undertake this work right away, and look forward to keeping you up to date as we move forward on our consultations into the fall.
