Collaboration between Haliburton Place residents and Avon View High School Students

Haliburton Place is a 31-bed long-term care facility that is located on the second floor of Hants Community Hospital.Residents have a back garden area where they can visit along with families, staff and hospital patients.

All gardens require some extra TLC in the spring, and the teachers from nearby Avon View High School in Windsor expressed an interest in beautifying the gardens with the help of their Options and Opportunities (O2) students.

Early this past spring, Greg Wile and Sean Connolly and their group of students started vegetable and flower seedlings, removed overgrown shrubs, edged flower beds, transplanted plants and mowed.

Watch as the residents, families and staff of Haliburton Place say ‘Thank You’ to the O2 students and their teachers, Greg and Sean, for taking an interest in their gardens.
