Safety and Injury Prevention team encourages Capital Health staff to make safety a habit

Wednesday, May 14, 2014 - 2:54pm

This year the Safety & Injury Prevention team decided to take the national theme for North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week, Make Safety a Habit, and focus on providing customer service by introducing themselves to staff, performing a walk-through of sites and addressing safety concerns from staff.

During the week of May 4 to 10, the team provided education to staff of Hants Community Hospital, Public Health (Burnside), Continuing Care (Joseph Howe Dr.), Twin Oaks and Middle Musquodoboit on a range of safety topics from fire to radiation safety.

More than 150 staff, patients and visitors toured displays and met with staff members. Site Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee members were also presented with a certificate of appreciation for promoting safety within their site.

Thank you to the host sites as well as our sponsors, for helping make NAOSH week a huge success!
