Gender-inclusive washroom signs being installed at Capital Health

Wednesday, November 28, 2012 - 12:26pm

Gender-inclusive washroom signs are being installed on single-stall public and staff washrooms in Capital Health facilities, beginning with the Victoria General site at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. prideHealth has received a diversity and inclusion grant from the Department of Health and Wellness to do this work.

Gender-inclusive signas indicate that everyone is welcome to use these washrooms regardless of their gender identity or gender expression and that Capital Health is a safe place for all of our patients, clients and visitors. The new washroom signs will include the male and female symbols, plus the new gender inclusive symbol and the wheelchair accessible symbol, where applicable.
