Denise Hatchette: Serving researchers, benefitting patients and communities

Denise Hatchette and her team in Financial Services-Research have one goal: to help researchers succeed for the sake of better patient care and healthier communities. Providing exceptional service is a vital element of their success.

At any given time, there are 1,200 active research projects underway at Capital Health, including approximately 300 new ones each year, many of them initiated by first time or new researchers. Nicole Druhan-McGinn, Understanding Communities Unit, recently received her first research grant and relied on Denise to help navigate the administrative waters.  “Denise is efficient, effective, timely and patient with all of my inquiries and is generous with her support.  Because of her approach to fellow staff as customers, Denise has made my work more effective.”

Nicole’s experience reflects Denise’s team’s philosophy of service. “Every day is about striving for  excellence,” says Denise. “You always have to think about the person on the end of the phone and what you can do to make their experience better.”

While the Financial Services-Research team has always been focused on creating a positive experience for their internal customers, Denise is grateful for the Communicate with Heart® program, which reinforces Capital Health’s expectations of service.

“We are all part of a team,” says Denise. “At the end of the day, our work supports better patient care.”
