Abbie J. Lane water damage update

Friday, December 28, 2012 - 3:22pm

The sixth floor of the Abbie J. Lane will remain closed over the weekend as the cleanup continues following water damage. Patients have been moved to unit 7.4 of the Halifax Infirmary and will remain there until at least Monday.

Regular testing on 6 Lane shows moisture levels are higher than normal in some areas of the unit, which will require more time for drying. We expect that drying and some of the repairs to be completed by Monday morning and will reassess at that time. It is expected that the majority of the patients will be able to move back to 6 Lane on Monday.

Once patients have moved out of 7.4 at the Halifax Infirmary, staff will begin work immediately so that those beds can be reopened for patients on Wednesday morning, January 2.

Capital Health would like to thank everyone involved for their patience and support.
