Jane Pryor, Director, Operations Support, has been named the Food Executive of the Year by the the Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals (CAFP). This award is presented in recognition of outstanding ability and contribution to the foodservice and hospitality industry, community involvement as well as service within CAFP.

There have been a number of changes in the Heart Health/Critical Care/Medicine portfolio. Kudos to Alison Leger, Anthony Wiseman, Linda Muir and Bev Dixon who take on new roles you can read about here. Lilly MacDonald has retired.

Two Capital Health physicians were recently recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Leslie Barnes is the 2013 Mentor of the Year and Dr. Laurette Geldenhuys is specialist of the Year.

Public Health’s new syphilis campaign, The Hard Facts, was recently featured in a global publication produced by the Centre for Disease Control .

Jon Bower, a nuclear medicine technologist in Diagnostic Imaging, has been awarded the Saroj Sharma Award for 2013. This award is presented by the graduating class of the Nuclear Medicine Technology program at Dalhousie/QEII Bachelor of Health Sciences program to the technologist that provides the most outstanding patient care, is dedicated to student learning and is knowledgeable in the field of nuclear medicine technology. The award recognizes the leadership skills of a nuclear medicine technologist in a teaching hospital.

Roberta Duchesne is the new Health Services Manager at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital and Harbourview Lodge. Roberta has a great deal of experience and expertise in human resources as well as program development and management. Her most recent position was a manager at Public Health.
