Dr. Stephanie M. Kaiser has been re-appointed as the head of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre.

Dr. Danielle Kain has joined the Capital Health Integrated Palliative Care Service and the Division of Palliative Medicine, Department of Medicine.   

Joel Maxwell, an analyst with the Performance Excellence Program, was recently recognized with the 2013 Inspiring Lives Award. This award recognizes the achievements of Nova Scotians who encourage others while facing their own struggles with mental illness and/or addiction. 

The staff at Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital want to congratulate two of their colleagues: Dr. Shilpa Sethi and Martina Cejpova, RN recently became Canadians after years of study and hard work.

Now that Lynn Edwards and Shannon Ryan Carson of Primary Health Care and Rick Gibson of the District Department of Family Practice have successfully completed the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement's Executive Training for Research Application (EXTRA) program, their work has been published. The EXTRA program provides focused training for teams to undertake quality improvement and system-change initiatives. As a team, they developed the Working Together Framework and Practical Tool for partners to describe their intended outcomes and the current status of their working relationship. 

Darlene Lace has been appointed to the position of Health Service Manager, Ambulatory Care - VG site of the QEII and Veterans Memorial Building (VMB) Geriatrics. She will be responsible for the Medicine and General Surgery Clinics at the VG site as well as the Geriatric Day Hospital and Geriatric Assessment Clinic at the VMB.
