Research Fund Competition

REMINDER: The deadline for application submission for the Nova Scotia Health Authority Research Fund (NSHARF) competition is Wednesday March 15, 2017, at 4 p.m. Please note that only the following groups are eligible to apply for funding: staff physicians, employees, affiliate scientists and trainees conducting research at NSHA. Research Services encourages researchers planning to carry out original research to apply for Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) research funding.

The competition for the NSHA Research Fund is held twice a year and includes four categories:

  • Category 1: up to $50,000 for new researchers with matching funds
  • Category 2: up to $25,000 for staff members 
  • Category 3: up to $5,000 for trainees  Note:  Research in Medicine (RIM) students are not eligible.
  • Category 4: up to $10,000 for novice researchers

The deadlines to send us your applications and all required documentation in .pdf format ( is March 15 and September 15 by 4 p.m. 
Note: Only applications submitted using current versions of forms will be accepted.

To help you prepare for applying to the Fund, there are information sessions that you may find helpful. Session information will be available closer to application deadline date.
