Our Work Cobequid
Community Consultations
The purpose of the consultations is to identify existing community and health resources, discuss any limitations or gaps in the provision of services, as well as determine the priority health needs of our communities. The production of a Community Health Plan is a huge undertaking for a Board of volunteers. We can only assess the needs of our community by consulting and having input from the public within our Board region. This dialogue is vital to our role and is on-going work for the Board. We are happy to present our new 2005 - 2008 health plan. Take a look!
Community Development Fund (CDF) Update
Overview and Goals
Capital Health is committed to a population health based approach to health care. As such, the refocused approach includes working with communities to produces change in services within local communities. During this shift, it gave all seven Community Health Boards (CHB’s) new resources to become more actively involved in their communities. Hence, the Community Development Funds (CDFs) were initiated in November of 2000.
The goal of these funds is to encourage creative and local community responses to local community health issues. Through these funds, the Cobequid Community Health Board can foster community networks and create partnerships to support community groups and projects to build a healthier community.
