About Capital Beat
Mandate
Capital Beat tells the stories of the diverse work and people of Capital Health, our successes in fulfilling Our Promise and how we meet challenges, for the sake of shifting the understanding of health and health care and demonstrating organizational values.
Objectives
- To be a hub of information about Capital Health.
- To demonstrate organizational accountability and transparency and the value to citizens for their investment of tax dollars.
- To foster understanding and discussion (within the publication and in the community) of health and health care and help enable the health system to be an active partner in creating a vibrant and healthy community.
- To build trust and pride in the organization, its people and its services by demonstrating how Capital Health is making a difference in the lives of patients and citizens through care, education and research.
Focus
- Stories that implicitly demonstrate organizational values (Integrity/Courage/Accountability/Caring/Inquisitive), featuring strong characters and patient involvement when possible and appropriate.
- Go outside the walls of hospitals to reflect work that’s done in the community by a variety of professionals and Capital Health’s increased emphasis/investment in wellness and primary care.
- Highlight research and innovation at Capital Health that will improve the health of our community and the education of health care providers.
- Illustrate Capital Health’s organizational presence and influence within and as part of the community
- Not meant to be a “booster” publication, but an opportunity to demonstrate what the organization is doing differently today for the sake of a better tomorrow and showcase world-leading success.
